About Steve Beck
Hello, My name is Steven Beck and I’m an Australian Landscape Photographer. But I love taking photos of more than just landscapes, people, animals and one of my passions V8 Supercars. I started my photography journey at quite a young age using my parents little Kodak Instamatic camera. I remember taking it on my grade 6 school camp where I captured Steavenson Falls in Marysville Victoria.

As I got older I upgraded to a simple 35mm point and shoot and this is where my love for landscape photography started to grow. I started to appreciate the natural beauty in the world around me and I wanted to capture it to remember later. There are memories I have of going on bushwalks in the snow at Mt Hotham taking photos of the breathtaking snow-covered landscapes. It’s like another world.

I think I got my creativity from my dad. He had a keen eye in capturing family moments and memories but he also would capture beautiful landscapes and he even got a few printed and hung them in our house.
Time moved forward and I dabbled in video editing and production and I started to film different events and friends weddings. In 2004 I joined in with a production company where I learnt to edit and started to do video production full-time. Filming anything from corporate videos, music videos tv commercials and weddings I learnt a lot about composition, lighting, cameras and working quickly to get the shots I needed. But just because I was doing video it didn’t stop my passion for photography and in the early 2000s my girlfriend (now wife) bought me my first digital camera. It wasn’t the greatest camera but it continued to grow my love for photography as I used it when we went on day trips exploring Victoria.

Life then took me in a new direction, I got married! My wife and I love to travel and see different sights around the world and closer to home around Australia. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful country to call home with so many amazing landscapes to experience. We have been lucky enough to share some of these experiences with our two kids on family road trips along the Great Ocean Road and various other places in Australia. It’s been during some of these travels I have had the opportunity to add to my photo collection and capture some amazing landscapes it has also been a great place to learn what works and what doesn’t.
In more recent years I created my own video production business that I have continued to grow but my love for photography has increased to the point where I wanted to follow a dream to start sharing my photos with the world and so I created this website.
I hope my photos inspire you to take time out to think about the world that is all around us happening every day and to appreciate the beauty of nature. Just looking at how it all works together in unison makes me know that it didn’t just happen by accident and that it was designed that way.
