Location: Port Douglas Queensland, Australia

Edition Size: 300

The Sugar Wharf was built in 1904 and it was mainly used to transport cargo to the waiting ships.  But with the sugar boom, it was primarily used to get sugar to the southern states.

This image was taken as the sun rose over Port Douglas looking out over the Dickson Inlet at the mountains of the amazing Daintree Rainforest.  I love how the wharf is still in the shade but the mountains are lit up and awakened by the suns first light.

Port Douglas and especially this wharf has a very special meaning to me as it is where I proposed to my wife.  I took this photo on our 15th wedding anniversary holiday.
